Georgian Keyboard

Using a Georgian keyboard involves selecting the Georgian language and keyboard layout on your computer or device.

Enter your text:

Windows:

  1. Add Georgian Language:
    • Go to Settings > Time & Language > Language.
    • Click on "Add a language" and select "Georgian."
  2. Add Georgian Keyboard Layout (Windows):
    • After adding the Georgian language, go to Keyboard > Add a keyboard and select a Georgian keyboard layout, such as "Georgian."
  3. Switch Language (Windows):
    • Use the language bar on the taskbar to switch between languages or use the keyboard shortcut Windows key + Space.
  4. Typing:
    • Once you have switched to the Georgian keyboard layout, you can type in Georgian by pressing the keys corresponding to the Georgian characters. The layout follows the Georgian National Standard.

Mac:

  1. Add Georgian Language:
    • Go to System Preferences > Keyboard > Input Sources.
    • Click on the "+" button and add "Georgian" to the list of input sources.
  2. Switch Language (Mac):
    • You can switch between input sources using the language icon in the menu bar or by using the keyboard shortcut Command + Space.
  3. Typing:
    • Once you have set up the Georgian keyboard layout, you can type in Georgian by pressing the keys corresponding to the Georgian characters. The layout follows the Georgian National Standard.

Linux:

  1. Add Georgian Language:
    • The process may vary depending on the Linux distribution. In general, you can add languages through system settings or language settings.
  2. Add Georgian Keyboard Layout (Linux):
    • Go to the keyboard settings, and add a Georgian keyboard layout, such as "Georgian National Standard."
  3. Typing:
    • Once you have set up the Georgian keyboard layout, you can type in Georgian by pressing the keys corresponding to the Georgian characters.

Typing in Georgian:

  • The Georgian keyboard layout follows the Georgian National Standard, and the characters are arranged based on their frequency of use in the language.
  • If you are using a physical Georgian keyboard, the keys should have Georgian characters printed on them.
  • Remember that the Georgian script is written from left to right.
